What should a 8 month old wear to sleep in this heat?

Hello,

My 8 month old keeps waking up unsettled. Doesn't want milk doesn't need her nappy changed either.

She was asleep in a romper (no vest). Could she be too hot in this heat? what should she sleep in? Will she get too cold later if she's in a vest?

FTM - sorry I know I sound ridiculous

All my kids needed something “on” them to sleep as babies even in hot weather. I had something g v similar to these 0.5 tog sleeping bags which I paired with a body vest thingy.
might be worth a try?

Just a vest is fine. We never did just diaper but 8 months isn't a newborn so I'm sure it'd be ok if too hot.

A vest and a nappy.

We had ours in a bodysuit and nappy with a toddler duvet bed cover (no duvet inside) over as a blanket.

I've heard they are better with a bodysuit than naked for sleeping.

Depends on your house I had teeny babies who were born in August and October I don't ever remember any of them sleeping in less than a babygro but the youngest was around that age during a heatwave and she spent a lot of time in a nappy and a baggy t shirt in the daytime. Probably not much help now but they all liked being top and tailed with warm water when they were running warm.

Mine is in a nappy and a vest and covered with a muslin cloth (don't start, please, I know it's not by the book, but she REFUSES to be put to bed without one. I do make sure it's tucked in firmly.) 23°C here.

my 10 month old is usually in a fuzzy sleep romper, but in this heat we down graded to a summer everyday romper and then last night just a vest/bodysuit ( he slept through every night) x

Sleeveless vest though mine has had a few nights in just his nappy

Just a nappy and 1 tog sleep bad

0.5 tog sleeping bag and either just a nappy or a vest. Grobag have temperature charts about what to wear that I found useful. I always felt that sleeping bags were an important trigger for both DC to understand that it was bedtime, but who knows if that was nonsense.

My 7mo has a 0.2 tog sleep bag on and just his nappy at the minute. I have a room thermometer and when it’s 27-28 in his room that’s what he has, 23-26 he has a thin vest on as well, 28+ it’s just nappy nothing else. When it’s over 26 we also leave a standing fan in his doorway and door cracked about 10 inches for airflow. This circulates air without him getting cold and I think the white noise also helps. This worked for the older one as well at that age and we still do the fan in the doorway for him at 2.5. Remember to keep curtains shut during the day and get windows open late afternoon as soon as the temp is lower outside than in the house. Plus use fans to pull cooler air from outside into the room before putting little ones down for the night (we set up just before dinner to cool upstairs before bath n bed).

We always used a cotton celluloid blanket, with a vest.

Cellular

My DD was 8m this time last year and we put her in a sleeveless vest. I also got some plain flat cot sheets for her. Amazon do two packs reasonable price. She always kicked them off but I honestly felt sleeping bags were too hot for her.

At 19m she is sleeping in a big light tshirt and nnappy. Normally now she has a duvet.
