I've somehow aquired my neighbours kid (again), he's on the wii, all I can hear it the boody tv, him shouting at it and my ds copying him. I don't want him shouting to the wii, telling it that it's an arse and he's going to kick it's but and it's a looser. I've just started my period, I'm in a shit mood, neighbour 'forgot' ds's birthday last week (the one that told ds's head I had no support with ds and if I didn't have her I'd have no one , the one that got married a few months ago and now thinks I should find a nice man and settle down, the one that's a child raising expert yet hardly see's her ds as he spends most of the time he's at home in my house, all I can hear is yap yap, yap. I've got a meeting with ds's head tomorrow because I'm refusing to take him back to school, I've got cramps, I'm just getting annoyed AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Rant over. I'm going to get the wine out of the fridge.

oh dear

you are quite entitled to moan.

Tell the kid it's time to go home now. You don't have to put up with it endlessly. I remember as kids we all got chucked out of our friends houses when we'd outstayed our welcome

Good luck with the meeting with the head!

I can't. Mum's at work. He was supposto stay with step dad who was (yet again) called into work early . I've got another few hours of this.
I keep thinking of what I want to say tomorrow but I hate to moan and complain. I am trying to think of a diplomatic way to say you're crap.

YANBU. You can't be expected to be an unofficial childminder. Why can't she send him to nursery or something?

HonoriaGlossop · 14/04/2008 14:15

Oh I see you're really dumped then

You're not moaning and complaining if you don't want to have him! put the responsibility back where it belongs; his mum, dad, and any other family members should come first. I think I'd tell her that you can't have him tomorrow as you are preparing for your meeting with the school. Perfectly valid. And it's a very important issue, it's your child's education, it's not as if you're saying you're going to have your nails done

Remember, the child is not YOUR responsibility

If you can't do it they will have to find other arrangements, as we all have to at one time or another

avenanap · 14/04/2008 14:20

No nursery's. He's 11, ds is 9. I normally don't mind, it's good for ds to have someone to play with but I've been trying to teach ds some social skills over the holiday (being nice and polite etc), It's going pear shaped as this lad is calling slytherins on the wii loosers, waste of space, I'm going to kick your arse, shut up etc. They don't seem to understand stop it, I don't want you talking like that.

I know it's a pain when you feel crap but I do think you need to call in some boundaries for that lad; turn it off, put them in seperate rooms for a bit, or even give him the hairy eyeball and say talk like that is NOT accepted in this house, and you'll have to phone his mum and dad if he carries on.

And do it! Phone 'em! Make them deal with him!

nedmum · 14/04/2008 14:28

Sorry, I'm an idiot. Didn't occur to me that a child on the Wii might be past baby-stage .

avenanap · 14/04/2008 14:30

I'm running out of wine. I think it's PMS. I'm trying to save it for the head tomorrow . Thatkyou for letting me moan. I'm going to go and lock myself in the bathroom with my large glass. I may be back later.

I think it's time to put the wii away and force them to find another way to amuse themselves. The attitude would wind me up too.

mrsruffallo · 14/04/2008 14:46

Can't you send them into the garden/outside for a kickabout?

avenanap · 14/04/2008 15:03

I've tried. Stepdad's supposto be back in half an hour . We'll see. I bet you a bottle of wine he'll ask to come back later.
