To think nursery should have noticed high temp today?

Hello,

I have a 2.5 year old at nursery, no big issues so far although small niggles starting to happen. When she joined it was owned by an elderly couple, same manager since it opened 15 years ago. Great staff, minimal turnover. Smooth running, quick to reply. Sold to a chain a year ago as couple were getting older and wanted to fully retire. Manager left few months after changeover. Massive turnover of staff now, slow reply to emails. Twice my child has been sent home ‘ill’ but perfectly fine and lively at home, no temps so I wondered if they were short staffed.

Anyway, today 29 degrees here. DD goes in fine, when I pick her up she’s outside sitting on workers lap. They say she’s a bit upset as fire alarm kept going off which frightened her (had engineer out.) She’s very tired, wants to be carried to car. Very drowsy in car, when I get her home I realise how warm she is- 39.2. I do the usual- cold drinks/clothes off/cool cloths. Have to put her in lukewarm bath, then in bed with fan on. Very tired throughout but rouseable. I think it’s heat exhaustion and thankfully temp is coming down (currently 37.6) but AIBU to think nursery should have noticed? A temp
that high can be dangerous and they hadn’t noticed or bought her inside/tried to cool her down so what might have happened if I hadn’t picked her up then? How would you approach this with the nursery?

How would they notice
?

That’s where I think IABU as obviously it’s a hot day and they have a fair few kids to look after. And she would have been tired as it’s the end of the day. Maybe I’ll just ask them to make sure she spends time inside to cool off, can they make sure she drinks enough.

They shouldnt of been outside in these temperatures unless the garden was shaded
It was way to hot today.
and if child was sad, tired and not herself, yes they should of noticed

(Iv been in Childcare for 20 years )
