to not want to let my cat out since my neighbours caught a group of teenagers trying to get him into a bag yesterday?

Am feeling a huge sense of "Oh God, what if..."

What were they going to do to him?

Thank God for lovely neighbours who spotted them and came and got dh. When DH confronted them they denied everything. No one recognised them and DH told them in no uncertain terms that there would be trouble if they were seen round here again.

Am so and scared for my cat. He's not even 2 yet and he might not have come home yesterday. He's going to go mad cooped up in here, but I can't bring myself to let him out today.

Really just need to vent all this somewhere.

Hopefully they'll not try it again now they've been collared by your dh. Poor thing.

maybe your cat will be more cautious of going near people when out.... Though on a funny note my cat climbs into carrier bags himself and my dd (just 2yo) drags him roiund the house in it!! he doesn't care!!

Can understand your worry though, if it were one of my cats i'd not be happy... mine dont stay out later than 7pm (their curfew) as i panic too much if they aren't in the house overnight.

My cat is really friendly. He stops to be stroked by anyone and everyone. I wish he was slightly more wary of people, but it's lovely that he's so trusting. I keep him in at night anyway and he never goes far during the day, but they were right at the end of our street (thank God, otherwise they might not have been noticed).

I just hope it was one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" things rather than anything more sinister. I mean, that my cat had walked up to them and so they thought "this'll be a laugh" with no thought as to what to do if they had got him in. DH said it was a backpack they were trying to get him into, which worries me less than something like a binbag.

Cats are being poisoned round here . Our car is very old and not at all adventurous these days so I think she's safe, but it's still a horrible thought. I don't understand people wanting to hurt helpless animals like that.

Our cat is very old...CAT...

Our car is very old but that's a different story.

OI

Nasty people out there. I think I just need to brace myself and let him out. It's not fair on him keeping him locked up. He was completely unfazed yesterday BTW, don't think he was even aware of the danger he was in. He's a bit dim.

AM - I know you are right, at least I have the comfort of knowing he's being looked out for.
