I have just gone to make a hot chocolate in the velvetiser as I fancied one. For those who don’t know it’s one of those gadgets that makes hot chocolate. Whichever last Dfamilymember used it, they didn’t clean it properly, and there’s milk residue at the bottom and chocolate flakes stuck to the sides. It doesn’t overly smell but has clearly been left dirty for quite some time. Last possible use over 2 weeks ago! Would you just give it a wipe and use it or does it need to soak to be bacteria free?

I'm pretty chill about food things but even I'd give that a soak (or at the very least pour boiling water over it after you've cleaned it before using).

Flightsoffancy · 28/07/2024 21:56

I'd probably just give it a wash and use it, but the boiling water idea is good!

Howdoesitworkagain · 28/07/2024 21:57

No I’d wash it. Why does this have to be asked? 😂

BoredAuditor · 28/07/2024 22:02

Two week old milk residue - blugh

Definitely wash

MooonDreamz · 28/07/2024 22:04

Obviously wash it

The instructions say to put water in and dish soap and switch it on so I'd do that Rich would soften what's in there and then give it a wash with a sponge under the tap without getting the outside wet just the inside went he whisk part

Just done a quick Google and if it's bone dry bacteria can't survive, apparently? It certainly can't grow or thrive in any case so even if it has survived it would be such a tiny amount it wouldn't likely do you any harm....

Might taste a bit rank though 🤢😂

Just wash it. It will take a couple of mins max.
