Concert goers

I was at Wembley last night to see Bruce Springsteen - been a fan of his forever. Pre- concert was in the fan zone - lovely time chatting with strangers about his music etc. I always try to stand as I like to have a dance. Tickets were £130 - I was surprised that so many of those around me chatted through so much of the show with their back to the stage. Had to move position a couple of times as I found their chatting distracting as I wanted to listen to the E Street Band. Others were so drunk that they crashed into others - carrying 4 more drinks - someone was sick - am I being unreasonable in saying stay away if you don’t actually want to listen to whoever is playing so others can enjoy it

I was there too! Such a great concert! We were luckily stood around people who were as into it as we were and were all dancing and singing along. We’ve been to Wembley and a couple of other big venues for music / sport few times recently and I’m also amazed at how many people seem to go to not watch what’s on but chat & drink ….. seems a very expensive way to do this! Just go to the pub! Last night was the only concert recently that hadn’t been stopped for security staff to go and “assist” a crowd member (falling down drunk idiot) I simply don’t get why you would pay to see a band and then get fall down drunk. An increasing amount of people are idiots 🤷‍♀️

I think a gig is a gig and to some extent you don't know what you're going to get. I've been to pop gigs where the crowd were straight normal and a bit non fun and prissy. I've been to steaming heavy crowd gigs where you take your jewelry off in case it gets pulled off. I've been to gigs where the mosh pit was immense, or the Stone Rose's secret gig where the Manchester men were rude. Punk gigs, rock gigs, soul gigs, folk gigs, people throwing urine in pint pots. I think it depends. You just have to roll with what you get.

I like going to Wembley - they know how to handle very large crowds. I moved to an area where those around were also into his music - back of pitch standing so ended up with like-minded people. In my younger days always tried for front pit but then I didn’t need to be able to get to a loo if necessary! It’s a shame but I don’t think I’ll do standing next time - will get a seat and hopefully will be in a block where most fancy a boogie. I’ve seen him around 50 times - first in ‘75 and only been seated twice - it was brilliant and some brilliant old stuff - shame I wasn’t there on Thursday - missed Racing !

I was there too in the side seating - not quite in the gods, and there wasn’t much chatter - we were mainly listening/singing along where appropriate! I thought it was a great show, but too long in the tooth to stand for hours on end these days on the pitch. The best atmosphere is down there though.

It depends on who you are seeing - I wouldn’t expect urine being thrown at a BS concert - absolutely not but I’m sure that would happen at other band’s gigs - I just wouldn’t attend. I was in a mosh pit once but my daughter was playing - thankfully one of her friends suggested I leave - they were right lol

Yes I think that is where I am now - couldn’t do too high up but think it’s time to sit - I’m aching everywhere today!
