I’ve been ringing all week at 8 am and by the time I get to them they have no more appointments. This is even for routine ones in 2/3 weeks time as they release them in small batches each day apparently? No appointments you can book online.

I called bang on 8am and I’m number 24 in the queue 😭😭

I've been with my surgery for 5 years, never had to see a doctor until now. They don't take phone calls, you have to go into the triage system on-line, which is only open in morning. I tried it 8 days ago, haven't heard anything back and am wondering if I ever will. I have private health insurance but need to see a GP to actually get referred.

On the other hand tried Pharmacy First last week as well as I couldn't see a doctor. An on-line appointment that morning, antibiotics prescribed which arrived in the post the next day. They only do a limited number of conditions though.

I think some private health care have started providing GP appointments too. I have BUPA through work, and previously had to see GP for referral to it, but last time they just set me up with their own BUPA GP at no additional charge.

Wow this is crazy, I never realised how good my Drs were.
Ours have the same policy, but i find that if I ring after the school run before 10.00 ish I still get an appointment the same day. They put me on a list for a Dr to call me, the Dr always calls me early afternoon and sees me f2f the same day.

I had a referral put through for a cyst in may and was seen by the cons in early July. Couldn’t fault it cons said they would do a referral for nerve testing for carpal tunnel. Didn’t do it so have an appointment face to face with the GP on 11th august which isn’t too bad. But GPs have been a nightmare here since lockdown. Have to call send a picture then dr has to view picture and then will ring you to see if you need to be seen. Just book me in for god sake.

I have to fill in a form online at 8am and then I might get a call that day. But I work and cannot take private calls in the day. I now have to take a day off work in the hope I might get a 5 min call sometime.

We can always get seen the same day if it's urgent - you can either ring or use an e-consult. I've never not managed to get a same-day appointment.

For routine appointments/smears you can just book online - it's normally a week or so wait but you can pick your time and GP etc. easily.
