That’s it. I’m not saying whether I’m involved in education or not, whether I’m a TA or a teacher. Just wondering if it’s reasonable or unreasonable for someone to be pissed off if someone who isn’t a teacher posts teacher memes

I was a TA for 16 years before my head asked me to do a teaching qualification.
TA ing is a hard job, and I would have left education long before now if I was still doing it. But it is not being an assistant teacher, it is not comparable - there are a hundred things I do as a teacher that a TA would never dream of doing, there are a hundred things I did as a TA that teachers who have ever been TAs don’t even know need doing let alone do them.
There are and always will be completely different jobs requiring a completely different skill set.

Surely the OP can't be a teacher because an actual teacher would not think this was unreasonable. Teachers know that TAs are valued and that a lot of them are doing the work of a teacher.

I think the OP is a parent whose child goes to a school where another parent is a TA but is posting these memes and the OP doesn't like her and thinks she should be brought down a peg or two.

Teacher here and you’re being utterly unreasonable! If someone even works in a school building they’d recognise how funny some of these teacher memes are and would be absolutely welcome to post them. And as a teaching assistant who actually work with children, of course they can post these. It does sound like you don’t like the person in question and are trying to add to your list of complaints about them as this does seem a ridiculous whinge.
