To consider all of my options

I changed jobs in April. My previous workplace was getting a bit too toxic for me (two colleagues made formal complaints against my manager) so you can get an idea of where it was going.

I started my new job with high hopes, but it turns out they didn't need me, and my role keeps changing. I don't like my role, I'm indifferent to the company, and I like my boss. I also think they could make me redundant quite easily.

After looking for a new job almost from day 1, I've finally had some luck and I'm now interviewing at three places:

a) is the direct competitor of my previous company and my role would be the same. Great cultural fit, I really like them, they promised a future very good role within a year. Potentially I would end up with a lower salary and it really "boxes" me as a professional.

b) is a startup and I would be the first hire of my type, my main account would be a previous employer. Lots of potential, but as a start-up, future could be uncertain.

c) is first interview so not necessarily the most versed around what they do.

I really want to explore option B but, I think there's potentially a week between getting that offer, and getting offer from A (I would get offer from A sooner). How do I handle this?

TIA!

how long were you at your previous job?
how long in current job?

2.5 years, and current is almost 4 months. I've stayed 3 years in the job before the last two, and 7 years has been my longest tenure.

I see anything above 2 years as OK.

so problem with with current role is that you. basically have very little to do
given you get on very well with your manager, i would be pushing this issue with him

That's a very simplistic way to put it. My current role is unstable, the company itself has admitted they don't their revenue forecast wrong. Staying is definitely not an option.

Option A doesn’t sound great - it’s a lower salary & they are promising a better role within a year (that won’t happen). Why would you move to that when you haven’t actually been told by your current company that they are getting rid of you?

Option B sounds ok, you are currently in an uncertain role though and don’t like it so would that be a problem?
