I work for a large company based in the uk and we've recently merged with another company. The majority of my team have left including my manager and HR director. The company we've merged with have a terrible reputation in the industry and basically treat their staff like shit. The communication has been terrible since we've joined them and we didn't receive any support during the transition and nobody checked in to make sure staff were ok. So many people have left and the people that have stayed (including me) seem really unhappy now. It use to be such a great company to work for.
Anyway, the reason why I've stayed so far is because I'm currently in the process of buying my first home. We should hopefully complete in the next 6-8 weeks but can't be certain in case there's delays. I'll be looking for a new job as soon as I get the keys and I might even leave before I've found something else as I'll have savings left over that would cover me for at least 6 months. Obviously I can't hand my notice in until we've completed as the mortgage will be pulled.
The reason why I've posted this is because an anonymous survey was sent out to everyone last week to complete, basically asking how everyone felt since the change. I rated every single question a 4 or 5 and put in there that the communication had been awful, that I felt isolated and the new team didn't feel as close. It didn't feel like a happy place to work anymore and that they needed to improve on their communication skills and be more transparent. All true of course but now I'm shitting myself in case it's actually not anonymous and they try and manage me out. I think it's obvious it was me but it's too late now to withdraw/change my answers. I wish I hadn't completed, but in the heat of the moment it all just came out! I honestly wouldn't care less if they sacked me tomorrow as I don't want to work there anymore anyway but I need the job until I complete on the house. Should I be worried?
