To ask whether my bullet needs to be in hand luggage??

Feels ridiculous to ask but I don't know and am obviously a little worried about having to deal with embarrassment with airport staff!!

I have a rechargeable Tracey cox bullet. Does it need to go in hand luggage? I don't fully understand all the restrictions around battery items so don't know if I can 1. Even take it with and 2. Whether it needs to be in hand luggage.

Would really appreciate some clarification, thanks 😊 can post a link to love honey of the actual item if necessary for an answer (and allowed?)

I know that items with rechargeable batteries need to go in hand luggage rather than main. If your bullet isn’t rechargeable then maybe it can just go in main luggage. I’d put it in hand luggage to be sure (but then what if you get searched? Nothing wrong with bullets but I’m guessing you wouldn’t love to get it out in front of everyone).

copied and pasted this off google:

”If it has removable batteries, put it in your packed luggage. That way, if the baggage inspection turns it up, you're not standing there while someone waves it around. Take the batteries out first, definitely! If it does have a lithium ion battery, you'll have to take it in your carry-on”

Feliciacat · 21/07/2024 22:46

@Bayleaftree63 is quite right. This is the correct information.

MrsPinkSky · 21/07/2024 22:48

Would've been quicker to Google than to start a thread really.

beebopdoobop · 21/07/2024 23:05

I wouldn't be putting my vibrator in the tray.

Really? I've had cameras, electric leg shavers, toothbrushes, handheld fans, loads of things with rechargeable batteries in my hold luggage. I never realised there was supposed to be a rule about this.

Yes. The reason being that lithium-ion batteries can be extremely volatile.

A fire can be more easily managed in the cabin than in the hold.

Bjorkdidit · 21/07/2024 23:21

Every time you check in you have to confirm that you won't put lithium batteries in the hold.

Not all those things will have lithium batteries but some might. This is something you really need to understand properly, otherwise you're putting an item known to be at risk of spontaneously catching fire in the hold.

Just wait until they do the same for your bullet as they do for laptops and ask you to turn it on Grin

TeaOrCoffeeOrHotChocolate · 21/07/2024 23:31

How do you know if a rechargeable camera/vibrator/something else has a lithium battery though?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 21/07/2024 23:39

What are you going to do with the gun, though?

DeliciousApples · 21/07/2024 23:50

I don't think I could handle the embarrassment so I'd leave it safely at home and find some other way to scratch my itch... Grin

lairyfights9 · 21/07/2024 23:56

Thanks for responses (just to clear @MrsPinkSky I did google but still didn't know, thanks for your extremely helpful input..)

It's rechargeable via a usb under the casing, I have no idea whether it's a lithium battery which is why I wasn't sure..

I would go without it but I struggle without it and do not want to have unsatisfying sex when on holiday 🤷‍♀️

It says on the box or in the manual, which is available online if you've thrown it away.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 22/07/2024 06:51

Travelling with my then 20 year old son, he had a pair of pink fluffy handcuffs and a vibrator in his backpack which his girlfriend had asked him to look after for her during the university summer holidays as she didn't want to take them home... He was rather embarrassed when they were picked up on the scanner and he had to explain why he had them. Not what he wanted, especially in front of his mum!!!

CommaChameleon7 · 22/07/2024 18:12

I thought you meant a nutri bullet 🤣🤣 wondered why you were taking your blender on holiday 🤣

I can't tell if this is a joke or not 😂

TrishM80 · 22/07/2024 18:16

Where do men pack their fleshlight?

Stroopcoggle · 22/07/2024 18:19

Case, in the hold.

It went in a clear bag in hand luggage, was put on the scanner, went through no questions 😅 fingers crossed it's the same on our return

Brave lady! Well done you!

I'd have put it in the hold and hoped for the best haha

TeaOrCoffeeOrHotChocolate · 24/07/2024 21:34

I thought you only needed to remove electricals bigger than A5 (eg laptops/ipads) from your hand luggage? I leave my kindle, phone and battery pack in my bag and have never had a problem.
