Do you believe the universe tries to tell us things

And it tries to push us in another direction or gives hints of it?
Currently live abroad, but for a while it feels everything has been against us-not keen on the schools, had money struggles, now lots of ill health and people passing in the family.
I often wonder if it’s just telling us to give up, go back home.
Have you ever felt like this? Do you fight against it or leave things to fate?

More generally people need a better education in basic statistics and psychology. There's nothing difficult about understanding enough to see chance and coincidence for what it is.

On lottery numbers, if enough people play, selecting random numbers, chances are someone is going to choose correctly. They won't know in advance that they are correct (whatever they or anyone else happens to believe) but they will win.

Whereas what @FinalCeleryScheme seems to be saying is 'but how did they know in advance?'. They didn't, they guessed like everyone else. Then they were lucky. If they had special powers of foresight they'd win every week.

If you were so great at psychology you’d have been able to spot that poster was blatantly ripping the piss.

That lottery post was the big give away.

Indeed I was. I even said so!

You sound very certain of something that is impossible to prove.
I'll come right back at ya and say that atheism is a logical fallacy.

It's the same as saying no leprechauns or fairies exist. Just because more people believe in God than in those things does not make it any more rational to believe in it.

Ha ha, ok. I hope that's true of all the other credulous seeming people on the thread too.

No, the universe is not that fussed about our lives. I think maybe what you’re describing is just your own gut instinct.

AGodawfulsmallaffair · 22/07/2024 08:13

Of course not.

Nope. Things aren’t going well. Your brain is like, enough of this shit, time to move home - it’ll make things easier. You can decide whether or not that’s the option you want to peruse.

A string of negative events isn’t necessarily a nudge in a different direction, although it can be. You can read the ‘universe’ (by which I mean everything around us) but it’s not always so simple as ‘go this way, go that’. If you follow astrology - and I don’t just mean star signs - it’s said you can go through entire long cycles of difficulty because of certain planetary transits. For example Saturn or Pluto impacting your chart. It’s not necessarily a case of ‘well I’ll do this other thing instead’ abd assume things will go better. Sometimes life is difficult and there’s no instant solution. If you feel called to make changes in your life, do what feels right, but I wouldn’t count on ‘the universe’ to tell you what that is.
