To think my dh should realise that Power Ranger flashing light trainers are not suitable for school!

Both my husband I work full time. I start early at work and pick up my son from after school club at 4.45 and my husband starts work late and takes my son to school at 8.55.

My son is six and decided to put on his power ranger trainers when getting ready for school. My daft husband did not stop him going to school in power ranger trainers. These trainers are red with power ranger figures all over them. My husband was proud of him the fact that he had got ready for school all by himself.

When I picked my son up from the after school club I got told off by the deputy head. I felt so embrassed. Why are men so devoid of common sense.

I think my husband would be too lazy to be a bigamist!

I love my husband but I don't understand how someone can be bright enough to have a MSc in Physics, but stupid enough not to realise that a six year old should not wear red power rangers trainers to school.

Dh took ds & dd to town this morning.

When they came home I realised dd still had her nightie on over a pair of jeans!!!

And she's bloody 6 & should have known to take it off herself!!!!!!!

I don't understand why you are embarrassed, or why you didn't simply tell the head that you were not present when your son's display of sartorial elegance was decided upon this morning.

Your husband should be embarrassed, considering you both work full time, that he is unaware of something as basic as school uniform

I bought my daughter some black power ranger trainers with flashing lights along the bottom - tbh they only have a couple of small symbols on that represent mystic force but she loves to wear them and I'm happy because they're black and match the uniform. The others go in their trainers and I hate it (I have one 10 and one 8) - I used to insist that they wear proper school shoes from Clarks but when the eldest reached about 7 she refused and started wearing trainers because her friends all did. It looks scruffy and horrible but I figure at least they're comfortable and the school has never complained. It's a shame that your school had to pick up on it. I read that trainers are actually the best type of shoes to wear because they offer more support (?) and lets face it kids are running around constantly. At least you had an excellent excuse - "sorry husband got him ready"

I doubt your dh even noticed his shoes - I know mine wouldn't, he'd jut be glad they had some on with minimal effort from himself
