To consider a decent pay cut for a dream job?

I'm still unsure of what they'll offer me, but I know it will be lower than my current salary.

I do love that company and it will use my skills as opposed to currently being wasted.

I also want to ace this interview so I'm welcome to suggestions on that front :)

If you'll still have enough to live the life you want to live, then go for it!

I think it will be either holidays or home improvements that suffer.

We have smallish overheads (£2200 pcm) so that does help, but we also like to live freely

I'd take the dream job and modest living over feeling under-appreciated and that you're wasting your life. Will there be opportunities for advancement?

As for acing the interview, a big smile and confidence that you can do the job well will get you there! Good luck xx

Hopefully! I have around 10 years experience in that sector. If anything they already know I'm too senior/experienced for a mid range role.

I think that would be my bargaining chip, lower salary for better title.

Me too & I did! Took a big pay cut but had worked out that it was affordable & absolutely don't regret it. Loving the job, team & organisation plus much better WLB so overall it's been great. (I Just don't spend quite as freely as before).

It did come up in the IV re why as they knew it would be a pay cut - I was honest in that I wanted to work for the company & do that job, & money was a secondary consideration as compared to personal fulfilment & satisfaction. I was also able to give great examples of how I was the best person for the job! Good luck!

Thank you! That was what I was hoping to read. I did reiterate in the first interview that money was secondary and that my current role showed me that I have a passion for my previous sector/ background.
