Posting for traffic. My previously good sleeper has suddenly woken tonight at 10pm and gone crazy. Endless screaming , it’s horrendous. When I go in he carries on no matter what I do, cuddle, stroke, talk etc. He can’t possibly be hungry as bad usual large dinner. No temperature. It’s literally been going on 1.5 hours now, never happened before. I have a meeting at 8am and I am so stressed. Nothing is settling him. I can’t cope with this any advice please

My baby had similar once, really out of character wouldn't stop crying, I called the doctor feeling like an idiot as just didn't know what to do and it turned out to be an ear infection.

If it doesn't stop I'd call 111. Yes babies cry but you know your baby and if you think he is in unusual pain and it's not just teething or something then it's worth seeing if an out of hours doctor would take a look, especially if you're both up anyway or you're not going to sleep for worrying. I would doubt there is something seriously medically wrong if he is still taking milk but might be an ear infection or similar

This happened with my son when he was a baby. The crying and the screeching was terrible to hear. Nothing we did made any difference. I was putting his dummy in whilst trying to soothe him and noticed a cluster of about 6 mouth ulcers on one side of his mouth. No wonder he was screeching , one’s bad enough - they really fucking hurt. It sounds like pain.
