How do I banish camel toe?

Just that really. I've tried various different underwear brands but haven't found any that work. I've resorted to wearing 3 pairs of knickers or long tops.

Thanks in advance Smile

Wear clothes that fit.
And by that I mean with the right waist to crotch length for you.

I do this by making my own clothes.
I’m sure there are shops somewhere that cater to the need.

Doggymummar · 13/07/2024 15:30

I've never had it, but some people say fitting a panty liner in the front of knickers works, or try looser trousers

HowIrresponsible · 13/07/2024 15:31

You're wearing clothes that are too tight for you.

Wear clothes that fit and it won't happen.

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 13/07/2024 15:31

I always thought this happens because clothing is too tight

Hoardasurass · 13/07/2024 15:31

Try wearing clothes that fit instead of squeezing yourself into to small clothes

I can’t speak for OP but I get it if I wear any shop bought trousers or shorts. They can fit perfectly at the waist and hips but because I have a long torso the length from waist to crotch isn’t enough.

I don't "squeeze" myself into clothes that don't fit. I don't always have this issue, for example my jeans are fine though tight fitting but some tailored high waisted trousers do it even though they are far from tight. I am a size 8-10 but it has only been a problem in the last couple of years. Perhaps it's my age (60+) or the cut of clothes has changed. I have trousers that I've had years that are fine.

What happens if you do go up a size in knickers, and maybe try a different style / shape / material?? There seems to be a variety out there and perhaps the ones you're used to aren't meeting your needs.

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 13/07/2024 15:42

Thanks@Doggymummar I'll give the panty liner a try.

What about trying some period pants as they have a thicker lining than thin cotton pants do.

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 13/07/2024 15:44

Thanks @MyArtfulOpalBiscuit oh I wish I could do that, I'm afraid my limit is sewing on a button or hemming.

Sounds like you are high waisted like I am. I don't wear much tight or tailored stuff these days so its not an issue. When I did, I used to buy the 'long' or 'tall' version of trousers and they seemed to be cut better for me.

The problem is, when you get to to your 60s (me too), your shape changes no matter how slim and fit you are. The middle thickens. That changes how your clothes sit so maybe your waistband is now sitting a bit higher than it did? Try moving the button on your waistband a bit so the trousers a cm or so lower and aren't grabbing at the crotch so much. Your jeans may be OK because have a bit more stretch.

takealettermsjones · 13/07/2024 17:06

Shop in the "tall" section and then take the legs up if needed.

unsync · 13/07/2024 17:22

You need to measure your rise and make sure that your clothing is the same or greater.

NoTouch · 13/07/2024 17:31

I am 5ft 10in and get that problem with jeans and trousers unless they are from tall ranges. Some low rise jeans can fit better, but I prefer high rise.

A panty liner isn't going to stop the seam from digging in. Perhaps a thicker pad would but you don't want to be wearing them every day!

You don't wear the pad you tuck it in your knickers, it doesn't go near your privates, just covering the raised area, is it called the pubic mound?
