That's a huge amount of money for a war that's not going to end anytime soon.

Where is this money going to come from? This is in addition to almost £12.5bn in military, humanitarian and economic support already given for Ukraine since Russia’s illegal and miscalculated full scale invasion in February 2022.

Ukraine needs our support. The cost of a Putin victory will be far more than financial. Should he decide to turn his attention to a NATO member then all bets are off. Funding Ukraine now is an investment in all our futures.

Unfortunately, it seems that many people, including the OP, don’t realise that at all. They can’t see beyond their own back yard or limited self interest. What the recent election has shown is the woeful grasp that a sizeable chunk of the populace have when it comes to geo-politics and the concept of a world behind the UK. It’s very worrying.

Supporting Ukraine is a bigger priority than anything else.

Starmer’s willingness to continue support is a very good thing.

If Putin gets Ukraine he'll move further west and our democracies and lives are fucked. We're not just protecting Ukraine's sovereign state we're protecting our own.

We are a few years off WWIII. If we support Ukraine to win we might avert it. If we were invaded we would want and need the same support.

We need to support Ukraine. It costs a bomb (literally) but they are the buffer and bleeding for it.
