to ask about travel sickness

I was always travel sick as a kid but now I can’t be a passenger for even 10 minutes without feeling nauseous and getting shaky and sweaty! What can I do to help this?

I struggle badly with it. I wear seabands and take medication for it

Sincere sympathies from a fellow sufferer. Travel sickness is the worst.

What works for everyone varies but medication helps me slightly and sea bands but what helps me most is facing forward and not eating a meal before or during travel but only sipping cold water and sucking on ginger chews, mints or sour sweets. If I eat anything else I feel so much worse.

I take ginger capsules which help too.

Thanks guys! I tend to do as suggested above for long-ish journeys (think 30 mins+) but I’m finding myself getting travel sick even in a 10 minute taxi to the pub on an evening. Am I just destined to be the designated driver now? Or should I still take tablets just for these short journeys

I double dose on Kwells and take zip lock bags in the car as a just in case!

It's miserable isn't it!
I find Stugeron very good, combined with facing forwards when travelling by train and the front seat of cars and near the front of coaches.
I always have a pack of mints to hand also!

I find having the air from the vent on my face helps. This works on planes and coaches too. Obviously the forward facing and keeping head up too.

I had motion sickness for a good few years and realised it was triggered by compressed nerves in my neck once I had osteopathy for that it really helped as did accupuncture

I usually drive. I can still feel queasy but not as bad.
its so difficult at the moment because I can’t drive due to a nasty injury. I have been SO travel sick most times I go out.
Fresh, cool air, facing forward. Travel
pills for bus and train.
it’s difficult.
