MiddleParking · 09/07/2024 14:26

Oh yes! I love doing this!

Tophelleborine · 09/07/2024 14:27

Ha! This has made me realise I used to do this always but don't anymore. I'm going to make a conscious effort!

MonsteraMama · 09/07/2024 14:27

How do you feel about galloping up on all fours?

It’s cheating.

It’s cheating.

Then I am a cheater and will continue to be as long as my body will sustain stair galloping.

That’s good. I’ve just restarted as well. I used to go down two at a time but at some point I lost my nerve, perhaps at about forty.

Having just broken my ankle falling down stairs, there'll be none of that type of shennanigans in this house for a while!
But, being a Cassandra here, going upstairs is equally dangerous, so be careful out there!

Mouldygarage · 09/07/2024 14:35

Bungalow here :( jealous of your stairs

Do you really think so? I mean the Gloucestershire cheese rolling wouldn’t be anything like as dangerous going up hill.
I hope your ankle recovers quickly.

FeatherBoas · 09/07/2024 14:44

I've just got out of the habit of dragging myself up by the handrail, maybe two at a time is next.

Granted, cheese rolling doesn't work quite as well uphill...
But it doesn't take much to miss the step on your giant 2-step leap, or you may catch it on the edge of the stair, and back you go..!!

Thank you for the healing vibe. It's getting there!

Thoughts and prayers...

How about galloping down on all fours?

I don’t think I would attempt it. My arms aren’t strong enough. Well done if you can, though.

ds jumps the last 4 steps, pivoting on the newel post to land halfway along the hallway. I was about to tick him off when I wondered when I stopped doing that? Probably when I was pregnant with him.

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/07/2024 14:54

I hate you all 🤣I have little fat legs and have always been jealous of people who can don't!

I love a four legged canter though.

How do you feel about galloping up on all fours?

This is my chosen method. My stairs are steep with narrow treads so 2 at a time might cause a broken ankle. All fours is brilliant

When the newell post suddenly peels away from the rest of the stairs is a good time! Repeated stress will weaken it
It is fun tho'

serialcatbuyer · 09/07/2024 15:04

Do you ever start like that then end up speed crawling up the stairs ? It's even faster

Notaflippinclue · 09/07/2024 15:25

Bungalows R us - just wait till you hit 70

SilverSimca · 09/07/2024 15:30

I just miss going up one at a time - I can't put much weight on my right knee so I have to go up each step left foot on step, right foot on step, left foot on step above, right foot on step above, it takes forever.

leafybrew · 09/07/2024 15:37

That sounds fun!! Gonna try it...
