Elderly DMum and toothache ideas?

Elderly DMum in her eighties has tooth problems. She's already scheduled to have three (upper molars) teeth extracted at the end of the month and today another three (lower jaw at the front) are hurting. The molars were badly infected but the infection is now gone (so she says)

She can't tolerate painkillers very well - even paracetamol and ibuprofen alternated are too much - she vomits and they make her light headed (she's a falls risk too 🤦🏻‍♀️) and the pain is breaking through ibuprofen on its own

She has ambesol, chlorhexidine mouthwash and various gels but nothing touching it.

Anyone any thoughts what I can do? She's sat there crying, wants to be left alone (which is a sign that she's very unwell) and I can't help thinking that's not a great plan... Ordinary, I'd simply dose her on painkillers but the 'not tolerating them' makes it difficult.

She's got a hot water bottle 😕

I don’t think you’ve mentioned Clove oil, which could well help, though probably not much more than Anbesol.

The end of the month is much too far away.
Can you really not find a dentist to take this on as an emergency?

Putting clove oil on the list ..

My mum is phobic about dentists and for reasons I don't understand the appointment is with a specific visiting dentist. No idea why - I don't think they use anything special but maybe they do?... They're there one half day a fortnight or something.

She really doesn't act in her own best interests around dentists - my DP took her to the appointment last time because I was away with work, and she came out insisting that they would call with the appointment. Six weeks later, when I said I needed to put the date in the diary, she admitted she needed to call to make the appointment 🙄 If I had been there, she wouldn't have tried that...

Added clove oil to a shopping list, thank you. I'll pop out this evening

Has she got lidocaine gel?

Has she got lidocaine gel?

I didn't know there was an oral one! Adding it on list too, thank you 😊

Would the ibuprofen gel work, that she could rub into the skin externally?

Oragel and no heat. Heat makes it worse, she's better off with an ice pack
The oragel should numb it up a fair bit. Check the box and get the right one though. I think it's the red box.

I think personally I'd pursuade her to get them all pulled and get dentures. No more dentists poking and prodding.
