To wonder if anyone else’s baby is like this

Fell asleep for literally two minutes at 645, she won’t be ready for bed until nearly 10 now. Her brother was the same. Is it just my babies or are they all the same?

Yes, mine was the same (and still is at nearly 6 years old!). I remember people rolling their eyes at us when he was a baby if we didn't want to risk going somewhere in the car and him falling asleep briefly that would then mean we were in for a hellish night. Sympathies!

Lifechanging12 · 05/07/2024 19:13

Nighttime sleep fine but during the day if my baby falls asleep for even 2 mins in the car on the way home he won’t then have a nap. So frustrating and I don’t know why

OrangeSlices998 · 05/07/2024 19:16

Yep my babies did that too! A 3 minute nap at 5pm could spell disaster for the evening! Baffling because it’s so short

Ohfuckwhatdoidonow · 05/07/2024 19:18

One out of my 3 are like this...so not all, but I'm also not sure it's that uncommon.

Oooh yes the danger nap! Nightmare 😢 they always seem to wake up extra early the next morning too!

We got a toddler trampoline for cheap on FB market place and it does wonders tiring them out!

Hope you have a good night ❤️

Oh, absolutely. I used to whack up the radio and bellow the lyrics at DD on the drive home if she looked drowsy in a vain attempt to get her to stay awake. She'd inevitably fall asleep as I reversed up the drive and then stay up till midnight.

Coffeerum · 05/07/2024 19:30

Yeah, smallest is 6 months and sometimes falls asleep for literally 2 minutes, after having been awake for ages and the acts so refreshed like it was the best most rejuvenating sleep ever.

It's because the "sleep pressure" has been taken away and needs to build back up before they'll sleep again.

I have a light sleeper / cat napper, but try to roll with it. Still, some days I'm running on empty.
