Help I used no more nails to put up mirror tiles.

Yes I know I was completely unreasonable to put up the tiles with no more nails, at the time it seemed like a great idea. But now ten years later I have a toddler and have moved the room around to accommodate. This means that the mirrors are next to the bed and I feel they need to come down ASAP for safety reasons.
what on earth do I do to get them down.

I have thought of prying them up but I’m worried I will break it and leave shards of mirror on the wall.
I have even considered to put a board up. For context they go from floor to ceiling and cover the entirety of the wall. We are currently in a one bedroom flat and toddler comes into our bed from time to time. It’s really small and no other way to have the room arranged.

please any suggestions on what to do. Posting this to stop myself making yet another silly mistake.

Can you try gently prying one off at the top to see how easy it peels back?

That’s a really big job. I can’t see how you won’t break the mirrors and then you need to get the rest of the liquid nails off the wall. I would cover the wall - as you’ve indicated - with boarding. Maybe you could get something that looks like a feature wall (panelling, wood strips etc).

This is a really good video, using shims. Hopefully the link works!

No More Nails can be quite rubbery when dry and if it was put on thickly you can peel it off.

Are there any gaps at all or have you gone literally from floor to ceiling?
If you have a gap to work with, find a sharp knife with a long blade and push it behind the mirror tile. With a bit of arm work you will be able to hack through the NMN. Don't pull the mirror tile outwards - you will split it, just slowly but forcefully push the knife up and down behind, as though it is a saw.
I put up some mirror tiles with gorilla tape - big mistake! But that's how I got them down.

If you have no gap to work with, you'll need to break the tiles to remove. But if you put tape over them before smashing you will hold all of the bits together.

How big are the mirror tiles? Could you cover them with something like sticky back plastic before trying to remove, so that if they do break they won't shatter everywhere?

I think I might opt for some panelling. I think the time that I will have to complete the job will be minimal, and no time for any mishaps. Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I will update you all to let you know how it goes.

Are you sure they need to come down? Are they wobbly? I bet you don’t worry about the tiles in the bathroom in a similar way.
