So - just had a birthday and got gifted a Lakeland baking tin from a very nice colleague who is on the autistic spectrum - was very touched to receive it because she struggles with social clues and interaction and had clearly paid attention to some conversations about baking for fundraising and had gone out of her way to get me something nice. Opened it up today to wash it before using and found that some of the metal inserts for the bottom of the mini sandwich tin were missing - packaging seemed secure as I had to break into it like Fort Knox. Not an entire disaster as I can still use some of the spaces in the tin but not all 12 of them, so called Lakeland Customer Service to explain the problem and see if they could provide any spares. They do have spares of the inserts, but apparently can't send them to me as they consider their purchase contract to be with my colleague. Have explained the situation to them including the fact that she would struggle to interact and also be devastated that she has given me something that has bits missing. Still no. So does anyone out there know where else I can source or buy some of these spare bases please? We have a local blacksmith bloke who could probably sort me a few of the inserts if push came to shove, but I don't want to think of his reaction when I raise the question of the Quantum 2 non-stick coating!
