Are these symptoms definitely associated with Bowel Cancer?

Hello,

So I'm worried about my father (65)

He's got various health conditions such as diabetes, high BP, he's had two heart attacks and has four stents in, has had a stroke.

He had Sepsis earlier this year too.

Recently he's been having some symptoms that are associated with bowel/pancreatic cancer such as:

Passing wind
Loss of appetite
Weight loss (have mentioned this to the GP but he said although he has lost weight it's not alarming and he isn't worried)

Does it mean he has bowel cancer? The issue is that he can't actually have a colonoscopy because after having sepsis he says he feels too weak to go through the process of having to empty his bowels and go nil by mouth for the procedure.

I'm worried it could be cancer but not sure what to do if he can't/wont have a colonoscopy?

Can the symptoms be linked to something else?

Thanks

Nobody here can tell you if it means he has bowel cancer. The three symptoms you've listed could certainly account for any number of things- even just getting older.

If the doctor isn't worried then that is going to be your biggest obstacle to getting anything diagnosed, not whether or not your father wants a colonoscopy. A doctor would usually do an examination and take a stool sample in the first instance if they were worried- has the doctor done this?

Those symptoms can be associated with a number of different conditions varying in severity from completely harmless to potentially cancer. Nobody on here can tell you what the cause is.
He needs to see a GP if concerned.

Is he anaemic? From what I’ve read re. warning signs that is often one of the first signs for men or post-meno women, along with alternating diarrhoea/constipation, thin stools, and severe weight loss.
