To ask if anyone's little ones have had very weird virus symptoms recently?

DD was sent home from school today, she was absolutely fine this morning but apparently started complaining of being a bit hot and cold at break time. Then started to say she had a tummy ache a bit later so they called me. I gave her calpol although she didn't have a temp. However an hour after that her temp has shot up to 40 and she was complaining of a headache. Took her to GP who can't see any obvious cause, no redness in her ears or throat and nothing in her urine. We've been told if temp doesn't come down in an hour to take her to the hospital. Just trying to work out what kind of bugs are doing the rounds at the moment or if anyone has had similar with no obvious cause.

Thanks for the comments. I think the nausea she's having is just because her temp is so high as she only says she has it when she's at her highest temp. She's still complaining of a bad headache though. Temp is now 40 and not coming down with medicine but hopefully a bit of sleep will help her feel better

Just to update it's looking like it probably is Covid. Other DC (5) is now also really poorly. Both got temp of 40. Both crying about how painful their heads and necks are to move. Will dose both up with calpol and get them to bed.

Covid! My ds had it last week. At least I assume it was Covid, didn’t test. It was similar to when he’s had it before, a bit worse though with lots of tummy ache.

Could be any sort of general virus. Covid is doing the rounds again though my colleague has tested positive, shes much the same, high temp, headache, nausea. She’s not one to get ill often or to have time off work even when she really should, but shes been bed ridden since the weekend and is only just starting to feel a bit better.
