Lump on childs arm

Me again and I'm really trying not to panic.

Please look at these pictures of a very small lump on my child's arm.

He's non verbal so can't tell me how it feels. He doesn't seem in any pain when I touch it.

You know me and I'm again so worried

It looks like there could be a very light bruise over the top

You suffer from health anxiety don’t you? This is not an appropriate way of managing that. If your child appears to be injured then consult a medical professional.
But regardless you need help for your anxiety.

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 20:57

I do suffer, badly. I'll be taking him to the gp tomorrow but for now I need to calm down.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 01/07/2024 20:59

This won’t do that. You need to find a better way of coping. Focus on other things.

user1471538275 · 01/07/2024 21:00

I will try and say this kindly but you are doing your child harm by transferring your health anxiety on to them.

You need to seek treatment for your health anxiety and if you have done so then you need to use the techniques that you have been shown.

You should not be posting on here.

ScoobyBooby · 01/07/2024 21:00

Looks like a ganglion cyst , completely harmless. Nevertheless , always a good idea to get things checked out . Please book yourself an appointment too 💐🌸 x

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:01

I know I need help. I'm trying to be calm about this. But it's a lump.

I am quivering but really trying to hide it

We do hold his elbows to support him steady

The only person that can help you is yourself.

At the moment you are doing things that make your anxiety worse - posting here.

You should not be taking or posting photos of your child either - again you are causing them harm by focusing your anxiety on them.

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:09

I know but it's a lump on the elbow under the skin, that I can't really feel. I can only see it when the arm is stretched out..I've got terrible anxiety and i need to get through the night.

Sometimes I really do think I'd be better off not being here as this feeling is awful. I'd do nothing about these thought but this feeling is terrifying

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 01/07/2024 21:11

You’d be better off seeking help for the anxiety.
In the meantime you’d be better off watching a funny film, doing some gentle exercise, phoning a friend to talk nonsense (NOT mentioning this), listening to music etc etc.

Sapphire387 · 01/07/2024 21:15

OP, it could honestly be anything (innocuous, I mean). A bruise, an old insect bite, a spot, a cyst... how long has he had it?

By all means, consult the GP if it hangs around. But surely it's likely to be gone in a few days.

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:16

I noticed it just now. It's obvious

OP posts:
FloofPaws · 01/07/2024 21:17

Bump, cyst possibly. Does it move around like it's under the skin, or does it feel like it's glued to the bone underneath?

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:17

The pictures I've taken make it look bigger

OP posts:
Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:18

Glued I think but its hard to feel anything. I can just see it mainly

OP posts:
TheSerenePinkOrca · 01/07/2024 21:19

I love watching Dr Pimple Popper. This looks like a cyst.

Just take him to a doctor.

Wolfiefan · 01/07/2024 21:20

You need to do something other than posting here. This is so unhealthy.

DaysofHoney · 01/07/2024 21:21

How long has it been there @Terrifiedshakes ?

I’m assuming it’s come up quickly, which would make it unlikely to be anything sinister. It looks to be on the bony part of the elbow, easily bumped. Try not to worry. Make a GP appointment to put your mind at ease, and another for yourself to talk about anxiety. Be kind to yourself, anxiety (and health anxiety), is awful. But you can get help.

Take care, and try to get some sleep.

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:22

I've just felt it and i can slightly move it and squish it .

OP posts:
Luxell934 · 01/07/2024 21:23

Looks like a ganglion cyst, especially if you can move it. My husband has one in his arm like that too.

Wolfiefan · 01/07/2024 21:24

PLEASE stop. You are just sending yourself into more and more of a spiral.

Terrifiedshakes · 01/07/2024 21:24

It feel like I can imagine a cats microchip to feel under the skin. He's going to be in the doctors tomorrow faster then they can answer the phones.

He's never at the drs either. He's got terrible epilepsy and a gene change but I try to be as cool as a cucumber dealing with this. He's been in some states on ICU ward.
