To ask if such a resort exists in the UK?

For a holiday towards the end of August I would like the following
-lodge or cottage style accommodation (not a caravan) or a hotel if it has suites with an additional bedroom i.e. just not all of in one room
-fun indoor pool
-kids activities, and a kids club would be amazing
-near an area good for exploring. We're thinking Pembrokeshire, peak or lake.district, Yorkshire. We live in the south east so have been to Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Kent, Hampshire plenty of times
-some kind of kids entertainment
-pets (1 dog) allowed but this isn't a deal breaker
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I've heard about bluestone in North Wales but that's the only suitable one we've found so far and I couldn't see that it had a kids club. Am I asking to much? Should we look at France instead?

Bluestone, Pembrokeshire should fit your bill.

EthanofAthos · 01/07/2024 18:14

Centre Parcs?

EBoo80 · 01/07/2024 18:14

Is Scotland too far? Crieff Hydro has all of this

Sunbeam18 · 01/07/2024 18:15

Auchrannie on the Isle of Arran

helpfulperson · 01/07/2024 18:16

Peebles hydro in the borders has all this.

I see you have done Devon, but the Manor and Ashbury resorts near okehampton could fit the bill

I really liked Bluestone. We went there a few years ago.

I didn't know kids clubs were a thing in the UK! That's interesting

CuriousGeorge80 · 01/07/2024 18:18

Ribby Hall? How old are the kids?

Sleepersausage · 01/07/2024 18:18

Scotland isn't ruled out if it had all the things we wanted

Have a look at Sandy Balls in the New Forest.

Kielder Water has all this. You can also find similar in other locations if you click on Lodges at the top.

No wifi provided in the lodges mind, and no phone signal! We loved that about it. Check site maps and reviews carefully. Only a few of the Kielder ones have really good lake views.

Pastapenguin · 01/07/2024 18:53

Bluestone is on Pembrokeshire/Camarthenshire Border not in North Wales.

We stayed in a lodge at Woolacombe Bay in Devon, it’s got everything you asked for only downside is that it sounds like an area you’ve already done plenty of times

EKnaring · 01/07/2024 19:16

Would one of the Centre Parcs suit or are you looking for somewhere you can venture outside of the resort itself? I’ve fond memories of going to Whinfell Forest as I’m from Cumbria (now live Newcastle way and can’t wait to go again soon after years)

Tapsaffweather · 01/07/2024 19:17

Cameron House or Gleneagles if budget allows. Both do bunk bed room in the hotel part and Cameron House does lodges (and possibly timeshare ones at Gleneagles that are let out).

It would, however I really feel for the price and added extra costs we may as well go to an AI abroad. I'm going to be starting a new medication in August which is my main reason for not going abroad but I really feel centre parcs comes across as a complete rip off

Try Whitemead. It's a forest park site that has lodges and cabins, as well as touring.

It had a pool, night entertainment, lots of activities on site. Location is good as well - Forest of Dean, wye valley, Monmouth/abergavenny etc. can also do walks directly off the site too.

Site was super clean and modern. Loved my stay there
