Just incase anyone wanted to carry on what I found was an extremely illuminating discussion.

I don’t understand how this helps. You can say they’re men, they can say they feel like women.

There should be no issue there though. If the law is based on what people say they feel like they are, rather than what they actually are, then the law really is an ass.
