AIBU to click off of travel insurance for these flights?

I had return flights booked (amount totalling about £200) for the 6th June, however on the 2nd June I was arrested by seven police officers - two of which took me to the station and the other five searched my home. They seized many items, including all of my devices, lots of cash and my passports.

I recently (this week) received the news that No Further Action (NFA) would be taken against me, and have this in writing from the Police.

my question is would it be unreasonable to claim off of the travel insurance for my flights that I couldn’t make (as the Police had my passports)? I feel rather embarrassed at the thought of doing so, but the arrest was pretty traumatic (I have never been arrested before) and it was all based on a malicious allegation, so I don’t want toadd in losing £200 on flights if I can avoid it.

I have the highest level (platinum) travel insurance.

WIBU to claim for the costs of the flights back? I feel so akward about telling my travel insurer that I was arrested!

Check if the policy covers it, and if it does then claim. If you are not sure, then ask then and claim if you can. They won't bat an eyelid!

Absolutely

On a different note, I can’t get over that there were seven police officers (at least two being seargents) and several Police staff attend my address to arrest me. I heard the bang on the door (I knew) it wasn’t the postman (!), twitched the curtains to see them all lined up (like in a queue) up the front garden path.

Nothing short of terrifying!…

What was the allegation? Was the amount of officers in proportion to the seriousness of the offence?
