How often do you have play dates?

I feel guilty I don’t do enough play dates. For my reception child I’ve had 3 play dates since start of September. My year 3 has more play dates but don’t know exact number. Probably once a month.

is this enough? Don’t have any family nearby and neighbours don’t have kids.

They play at school, don't stress

Extremely rare.
Couple a year.
I can only assume it depends on the school/children your child wants one with (or parents)
Or maybe people just don't like me 🤷

My child has had about 3 play dates too. And I must say it is something I’ve worried about, but my husband doesn’t. I’ve made sure I’ve signed him up to the school holiday club over the summer holidays so he can still see some of his friends.

I have a mum friend whose child goes to a different school in year 1, and she’s never ever had a play date. She’s a very sociable little girl and well liked at school.

I think you always hear some parents having play dates all the time, and I don’t think that’s the norm.

As often as we can, a few times a month, but DD enjoys it.

We've done one, at a playground. I work so no time after school, and our weekends are busy.

We might do one in the summer holidays if we can coordinate a day, but I really don't think it's important.

Probably once a fortnight, but DC is nursery-age so a bit younger than your DC. Along with each week including: a toddler play group, 3 days at nursery, football club and swimming class.

My DS is late teens but we hardly ever had them. One of my friends whose kids are much younger than mine is obsessed with having play dates. Why can't kids amuse themselves anymore? Like @BaleOfHay said, they play at school!

Not frequent at all at those ages, now DD is 10 and they knock for each other and hang out in whichever house they want so I seem to have a near constant stream of random children eating from my fridge and leaving toys everywhere. Really could have done without the super loud one with a voice like a foghorn screaming in the garden this evening after a very long very hot very irritating day, but at least they had fun.
