Outdoor power tools

I know aibu. I do. BUT...

AIBU to want to bloody strangle next door with the power cord of whatever sodding power tool he has been using in his garden for the last four hours?

I get one singular day off between two sets of 12 hour shifts (three 12 hour days each), and the weather is actually perfect. But he has had some form of fucking awful noisy buzzing garden thing going since 10am this morning. I think there may have been a succession of them as the horrible noise has changed ever so slightly a few times. There has been a strimmer, a lawnmower and I think now a jet washer

I know of all the times to it, now is probably best, and good for him maintaining his garden. But I was so hoping for a nice peaceful, restful afternoon sitting in my garden in the sun for once and now I have a headache and right cob on.

Bah, need to go and live where there are no sodding neighbours but it's not happening on nhs wages!

Sympathies OP! Is there a nice quiet park/national trust type place you could go to? I know it's not the same!

If it helps, farmers are noisy buggers too so its just as loud in the country!

And yes he will probably have stopped by this evening but then I will have ds and I am a single parent so I won't be able to relax in the same way, plus the kids will be out of school making a racket playing (as they should be in this sunshine!)

Sorry most considerate people do that sort of stuff during normal working hours if they can because that way they disturb the least people.

Rather than work yourself up with the idea of strangling someone, maybe better off asking him politely if he can do it at an alternate time ?

I guess he is not working in some way, on holiday or a pensioner ? Maybe he would be happy to change time if he has that flexibility.

I know it's the most reasonable time to do it, and it sounds like he's cracking it out all in one day as much as possible so aibu. Still very irritating though.

I'm just very tired and grumpy and a bit disappointed that my plans have been scuppered.

Why can't he just wave a magic wand and have a perfectly maintained garden (and then wave the magic wand in the direction of my garden too while he's at it!)

Need to pick up ds in an hour so not really anywhere I can go now either
