to think the world revolves around YOUR children

honestly the way you go on

millions of people, in fact the vast majority, have children

those who don't have young kids, had them or will have them

they are just children and for a very short time they are dependent on your care but they are not the centre of the known universe you know so don't expect people outside of your family grouping to think they are

I thenk you

Twiglett I do so agree

Having battles with own dc's who have picked up "but children should always come first" from their friends and friends' mums aarrrrggghhhh

I respond with a metaphorical Victorian iron rod

Boco · 09/04/2008 17:50

God snack-face all this revolving and I'm starting to feel nauseous.

Confused

of course my world revolves around my children....tis my world after all!!!

of course, today I can be excused from thinking that the world also revolves around a tasty physio guy as that is where my world led today.......

Blandmum · 09/04/2008 17:55

but cod, you don't expect my first thought to be 'where are cod's ds' do you?

There is confusion all round about who is allowed to revolve around what and who isn't. The laws of revolving are very strict.

SheikYerbouti · 09/04/2008 17:58

My children are the most imposrtant thing in my life, but mt life doth npot revove around them.

In fact, I'd happily give them away for a slab of beer and some chocolate.

Boco · 09/04/2008 17:58

But i've not really met anyone who really thinks that everyone else should revolve around their children - or whatever the criticism is. Not really. Maybe you're hanging out with wankers not very nice parents?

Niecie · 09/04/2008 18:10

I wish somebody would point it out to my children. I have spent the last five minutes telling them I am not their slave, nor are they the most important people on the planet. So what does DS2 say to that - "can I have a drink please"?

I am up and down like the proverbial yoyo this afternoon. Ignoring them doesn't work as they end up repeating the question until I gave in. I will be glad when he is big enough to reach the tap for himself!

You may be able to tell it is the school holidays and my world does revolve around them 24/7 at the moment. I don't expect anybody else to have to put up with them though.

Blandmum · 09/04/2008 18:19

Oh God , cod, do you need to ask?

You are a teacher

I once had a parent v pissed off with me because I wouldn't go round all of his 11 year old's teachers (over 12) and replace all the books his son had ruined by pouring water all over them

Son was an idiot and so was the father. Son still thinks that the world revolves around him

edam · 09/04/2008 18:34

ds's reception teacher manages to persuade every single parent that she thinks their child is the most fantastic little boy/girl that she has ever met. Very clever woman!

I'm sure most parents are self-aware enough to realise she is being kind...

edam · 09/04/2008 18:35

Although obviously my son is, actually, the most gorgeous little boy she's ever met.

Twiglett · 09/04/2008 18:51

the title is patently a loss-leader .. draw 'em in and hit 'em when they least expect it
