NHS 12 week online programme

Has anyone done this? Was it any good?

I've put on a lot of weight due to medication. The GP kept refering me to Health coaches who basically tell me to eat healthily (but not as healthy as I currently eat - one told me to eat a hot cross bun everyday!) and to do more exercise (but only 30 minutes per day when I already do more!) Just utterly useless for me.

I have had success at losing weight but only eating 800kcals and I find it hard to maintain long enough to lose all the weight I need to. I need support.

Would you say this programme is supportive of individual circumstances and not just telling you to eat healthy and do exercise?

It's only 12 weeks which means with the best will in the world I'm not going to lose what I need to in that time. But if I could get a couple of stone off it would be something.

I haven't done the nhs one, but was eligible for it. In the end I used an app called nutracheck its calorie counting but this app is very user friendly with a UK food database. I first started it set to 1lb loss a week and decided to change everything slowly I'm glad I did because in 3 years I'm 6 stone down now and had a pregnancy and baby in this time. I'm a creature of habit I also like a treat and to eat family meals this is the only thing for me I've had work. I also read about by the fitness chef and found he does alot of videos on YouTube he helped me with my attitudes to food I had a rubbish relationship with it, good food bad food etc or would just give up if I ate something I thought was bad and the flood gates opened up food is just food to me now which has been freeing and my latest breakfasts are chocolate chip Brioche no guilt what so ever haha.

Thank you for your reply. That's amazing you found something that worked and have managed to lose so much weight. Ah, chocolate chip brioche - my DD's favourite!
