I was going through stories on Instagram and saw this one story of this woman who I know of through friends from years ago. I dont really speak to her just an acquaintance. She had recorded her DD whilst driving. Her DD is about 6/7 and she was in the front seat with no car seat. I double checked and you should have one until you're 12 or over 135cm which this little girl is definitely not. Plus the recording on her phone whilst driving too.

What would you do in this situation if you'd seen this? Would you tell anyone?

Nope.

No

StonwEd · 16/06/2024 08:29

To who?

swapcicles · 16/06/2024 08:30

Personally yes, but through a screen recording and sent it through crime stoppers(?) reporting directly to Instagram does little, they'll just take it down.
This is of course if she was definitely driving not just parking up or going through the drive thru. (Still not right but probably not worth pursuing by the police)

She was 100% driving down roads you can see it through the windows

If I thought there was an authority who would respond I would, even if that was to go and have a talk, not actually prosecute.
But I don't think there is so probably not.
Really awful though, so risky and such a bad message.

nobody will care. Police won't even visit.

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 16/06/2024 09:01

Report it to whom? Who will bother to do anything?

Whistledown1004 · 16/06/2024 10:49

I did take a video recording of the story and I've now put it to crimestoppers. My job involves protecting children from harm and I just feel awful just not even reporting it so I have. It is dangerous behaviour

At least you've acted on your conscience. At the end of the day you have to live with yourself and feeling shocked but moving on just isn't you.
