to ask about suppliers of raw totally unprocessed honey?

Hi posting here mainly to get potentially the biggest audience.

I currently order my raw and totally unprocessed honey from The Raw Honey Shop.
I've used them for a long time and have been happy.
They add reward points to your account for various reasons.
They give a discount for the points accumulated, and if you purchase over a certain amount.
Their main suppliers tend to be from Greece or Spain, and I've had some really lovely dark mega thick honeys with antibacterial properties and a level of 18.5 active. (I have occasionally been lucky enough to buy a higher active level).

I would however like to know if anyone out there has purchased quality honey such as above, and in bulk in order to obtain discounts...

Would you be happy to post where you buy your honey from?

By the way, I don't purchase Manuka honey, as it is beyond my budget, and I've seen that not all Manuka honey is genuinely Manuka... the name has unscrupulously been used where it ISNT the genuine article.

I am a genuine poster, and used Mumsnet for a lonnnnnng time.
I suppose I can see that because of my praise for my current supplier, that it could be perceived as an advert
I promise that my sole purpose is to not just blithely stick with who I've always used, but to see what else is available.

Shame I've attracted a poster that may have discouraged other potentially helpful posters....

I'm not gonna trawl prices with your supplier so no idea if it'll be cheaper or not but infinity wholefoods are very amenable and easy to deal with people who supply lots of varieties of raw honey.

I buy honey locally, I'm sure you could negotiate a discount for a bulk order.

You'd have been better off with a different username before shilling us your honey.

I thought local honey was supposed to be the one. Particularly if you have allergies (or something). There are are often lots of local honey producers supplying local shops and markets. I'd go for that.

Find a local supplier rather than stuff that's sourced from Spain or Greece.

Why would you buy in honey from Spain or Greece? Don't you have any local suppliers?

I don't sell my honey but pretty much every other beekeeper round here does. Put up a post on your local social media group and you'll have all the raw, unprocessed, local honey you could ask for.

People sell it locally here. I agree if you don’t have an obvious market or farm shop just use Facebook. Don’t import it, that’s madness. British Honey is The Bees Knees.

I think you’re much better off finding local honey - farm shop, honesty box, etc. Ask on your local Facebook group, someone will know where to buy it.

I get mine from a local farm shop, still in the comb.

Isn't all honey raw and unprocessed? At least the sort of stuff you buy direct from local producers, no idea whether the big commercial suppliers do anything with it that counts as processing.

Again, I thought all honey had antibacterial properties. Don't understand the active number.

Why on earth are you shipping honey in from abroad when there's a country full of it.

What’s the point of it sorry? By merit of being raw is it any better for you than shop-bought? Genuinely curious. I quite like the idea.

It's pretty upsetting to be accused of being a seller.
My username was my choice as it describes the kind of food I'm aiming to eat more of... (some foods when they are cooked lose vitamins, minerals and enzymes... or so I've read) I have to cook a lot of brassica veg coz I have an underactive thyroid.... and partly the name was a bit of fun, in that if the weather ever gets warmer, I'll be chasing, and be chased by my lovely partner with no clothing on... hence "raw" = naked!

I have purchased from abroad, only because I do enjoy the oak tree honey that is mega dark and not overly sweet.

Thanks for everyone's advice to at least enquire about local honey... but so far, local honey is too "golden" and super seeet for me.
I hate that I'm coming across as a traitor almost, and that my carbon footprint is a heavy one...
Same with the fact I love avocados, and their health benefits, but again that comes with a heavy footprint.
I'm not trying to be perfect, I'm doing my best I can for my health as I age...
I don't want to be a burden on anyone, so I'm doing what I can to stay fit and healthy as I can manage or afford.

If you want raw unprocessed honey, you need to buy comb from a bee keeper. Otherwise it is processed.

If you have ever bought clear honey, it is processed.

Don't believe other peoples advertising.

just what I was thinking! although I would be more afraid of diabetes, with a monthly honey subscription 😂
