Was at gym. Girl with her mum but wearing the kind of gym wear a 23 y old would wear.

I had a judgemental moment. It just seemed weird.

Something like this?

sportswear is designed to wick sweat away and allow freedom of movement and keep te wearer cool ad comfortable which is why leggings and t shirt are unsuitable

I find that style of dressing a child a bit weird too, it's kind of precocious.

I also don't like it when young boys are encouraged to wear trendy clothes and have the latest haircut complete with hair product etc.

Please, just let kids be kids ....

Surely if you don't have boobs a crop top /bra top is going to keep riding up and just be uncomfortable anyway?

At the risk of sounding my age, when I was that age we wore t-shirts for sports, much more comfortable and loose wicking t-shirts you get these days would be even more comfortable.

I do think these fashions that are revealing and trendy for girls are priming them to (a few short years later) wear early teenage fashions that are revealing and lead them into sexualised fashion choices at a younger age than necessary.

Good on her for doing some exercise. Shame on you for judging her outfit.

@Bigcat25 so then by your reckoning then children wouldn't be abused of they were covered up?

I have news for you, abuse happens because of a f**ked up person not what a child wears. That I can actually personally confirm.

The suggestion of clothing making a child a target is lazy and victim blaming.

I know that people can be targeted regardless of what they wear. I didn't say otherwise. Why should I give a creep the satisfaction of seeing more than they have too?

As other posters have pointed out it can cause very young kids to feel conscious of their belly's/other body parts at an age where they shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm talking about other kids who don't have the "ideal figure" to wear those clothes and not feel self conscious.

A tee shirt certainly allows freedom of movement, and a sports tee is made of that same wicking fabric. As the pp said, boys wear normal trees without issue.
