For a 11 year old to take their 2 siblings (6 and 7 years old) to school over a 1 mile walk away on their own?

We used a balance bike for my toddler once he outgrew the buggy but if the pavements/roads are too busy then you could as pp says find a little tricycle that has a push handle

Just thinking about doing this in September that's all. I got a 3 year old who's too big for his pushchair so can't walk all that way. I don't drive either

Well no, you can’t do this. School would see it as a safe guarding issue anyway. Your toddler will have to walk or scoot or bike, but you still have to get your kids safely to school and back with an appropriate adult.

Of course not! Do you have a partner who can help? You need another solution,

Well actually I've been doing it 3 days a week since last September. Just wondering whether or not it's a good idea

So how old were they when you started? Have you decided to stop now you’ve realised how stupid it is?

What are you looking for here? A pat on the back for your ‘genius’? Or a bun fight?

I don't drive walk everywhere. As a result my kids all walked well from an early age. Primary school was about 1.5 miles and although I usually took the buggy it was rarely used from about the age of 2. By senior school they were perfectly happy walking 3 miles there and 3 miles home every day ran or shine

rainbowstardrops · 12/06/2024 09:45

Absolutely not! At my school, an adult has to drop off/pick up until year 6 and that's with permission from the parent/guardian.
Quite unbelievable
