New sofas arrived on Sunday, originally ordered black but this is what arrived, are my eyes playing tricks on me?
Look very dark blue or navy to me

Doesn't look black.

DogwoodTree · 11/06/2024 13:37

It’s not a true black but it may be what they call their particular fabric. I would take a cushion cover in to store and compare it with the swatch you used to order. The swatch may have appeared “more black” than it really is when you viewed it in contrast with the other swatches or - it will show that the sofa you received is wrong.

also - is that a little hole in the underside of the cushion in your second picture?

jlox · 11/06/2024 13:57

Did you not mention when it was delivered? I had one delivered a few weeks ago from dfs which had the wrong coloured feet, i went in store the next day and they said because i accepted delivery there was nothing they could do.

Purplerainpurplesky · 11/06/2024 14:00

Take a cushion into the store and compare it against the swatch to see if its the same colour

ManchesterLu · 11/06/2024 14:06

Definitely not blue, but also definitely not black!

BurntBroccoli · 11/06/2024 14:07

Charcoal grey (which does have a bit of blue in it).

BurntBroccoli · 11/06/2024 14:10

I've just bought wallpaper in Homebase that is described as 'black', but it's actually a dark bluey charcoal that matches my tiles!
There are many different iterations of black.
Did you get a swatch to take home? That's the only way to match anything.

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 11/06/2024 14:14

It’s not black. Is there a label anywhere on the sofa itself (at the back or the underside of a cushion) which gives a colour or code?

FWIW I thinks it’s nicer than black.

fieldsofbutterflies · 11/06/2024 14:16

I'd say charcoal/dark grey too. It's nice.

buffyslayer · 11/06/2024 14:17

I have the DFS aurora in graphite and it looks similar to that colour
Kind of charcoal grey blue

haddockfortea · 11/06/2024 14:19

That is not black.

DirtyDensDog · 11/06/2024 14:21

Take a look on the Dfs website to see what colours that sofa comes in.

It's not black though, more charcoal.

buffyslayer · 11/06/2024 14:29

This is mine

Dark grey.

Definitely not black!

buffyslayer · 14/06/2024 09:46

In the second pic of yours, what's that zig zag fabric? That looks like the footstool that comes with mine....

Ah ok I was wondering if the same sofa!
But yes mine is a blue grey and DFS call it graphite

Monkee73 · 27/06/2024 15:32

Apparently my DFS sofa is Black!!? Looks Navy blue to me and everyone else I've spoke to!

fairydust11 · 27/06/2024 15:48

It looks like a faded black to me. I can’t see any blue.

purplecorkheart · 27/06/2024 15:52

Looks like charcoal grey to me. When you were viewing the swatches in store did you look at them in Natural Light or was it just store lighting.

Was the swatch actually labeled black or did it just appear black and actually had a swatch number?

I ordered it online and the colour I ordered was black. I just looked at their website and they don't even do a Navy blue colour!

theappp · 27/06/2024 19:11

I can definitely see blue!
But I think I am slightly colour blind, because you know people have windows with grey frames these days? Well I see them as blue? Do you @Icloud54 ?
