To work elsewhere until it’s fixed?

I work from three different locations. One of the offices has had a large leak that has been ongoing for months and after all the rain recently the whole room smells quite foisty and sour. I think this is because the carpet is not drying out. I guess for the odour to be there, there must be damp. I have not been in a few weeks and it is particularly worse now, even with windows open the smell remains. I don’t think they’re doing anything about it.

I’m pregnant and wondered about whether there would be mould spores in the air, given how much the room smells. It’s not pleasant for anyone to sit in, but I definitely don’t want to be breathing anything dangerous in.

I don’t really know who to raise it with as I have consistently brought it up as have a couple of others but nothing is happening and some other people are just getting on with it. I have the option to work elsewhere but it might be frowned upon if others are just putting up with it.

If you have the option to work elsewhere, I'd just crack on and if anyone queries explain what you've said here

I know I’d worry if I exposed myself to it but also don’t want to be looked upon unfavourably if my colleagues are happy to be there.

It feels like a tough one

Contact your Facilities Management team and see what they plan to do?

Who have you raised it with?

It seems silly to work there when you have the option not to.

If you've asked you line manager and not got a useful response, then there should be a HSWA poster on the wall with the contact details of the person responsible for the health and safety of staff. They would be an appropriate person to contact about your concerns.

Keep saying someone will look but then saying they can’t identify the fault

I’m surprised at the consensus I thought people would think I was BU!
