To change my nose stud for a nose ring

Six months ago I got my nose pierced with a needle and had a stud put in - one of those curly type backs. It has healed ok after a few bumps and some swelling to begin with.

Do you think it's too soon to swap out the stud for a nose ring? I'd get my piercer to do it but do not want to book an appointment if it's too soon. Like I said, it seems to have healed/be healing ok, but I don't want to be too impatient and have read mixed opinions on nose piercings. Some saying wait a year and others saying after two months is ok.

Please share your nose piercing stories!

Thanks

I had my nose done at a festival 30+ years ago. It was before piercings were fashionable and it was done with an ear-piercing gun, so had a butterfly back on. I changed it after a couple of days. (Which in retrospect probably wasn't the best idea. and was quite sore, but no harm done)
Now I have a clicker type sleeper ring in. It's hinged and just clips itself in place. Sooo much easier than the bog standard sleeper. It's rather difficult trying to stick the tiny wire in the tiny hole while it's up your nose!
