Feel Guilty Leaving Nanny Position

I'm a Nanny and have been working for a family for the last 8 months. I am handing in my notice today but I feel so guilty. I am giving four weeks notice. If you had a nanny resign did you take it personally as a family?

What is your reason for leaving? That’s what will make the difference.

Depends why you're going?

You sound very considerate. But - at the end of the day, it’s a job. When they don’t want your services any more, they would give you notice/make you redundant without any qualms. End on a good note by stressing what you’ve enjoyed about working for them. But no need to feel guilty!

Thats exactly what my DH and best friend said. The Mam has dropped some hints about getting toddler into a group and getting her mother to help out as she has just retired but keeps saying that she wants to keep me as she knows how lucky she is to have me as I'm great with the kids reliable and she knows her kids are safe.

It’s just a job and you have to put yourself first because no one else is going to do so. You and your family are rightly your priority. There’s nothing wrong with that.
