DH and planning

DH loves a plan and I love his skills as he is proactive (he needs it in his job). I also know that some kids like to know roughly what we are doing (park, lunch and bath etc) but recently he’s been laying every plan out in exact minutes and I think the DC are getting hung up on things happening exactly as he says as well.

He is a laid back person but examples are:

4 minutes then we are coming in from the garden DS.

Your programme starts at 6pm and it’s 5:59 so it’s not on yet. That’s probably because of the adverts etc etc.

Early bedtime tonight as you are really tired (no we’re not!) so teeth at 7:25.

The kids are Year 4 primary.

AIBU to think this is a bit OTT? At least he is giving them a heads up (!) but DS1 finds a change in plan really upsetting and I don’t know if it’s to do with everything being exact?

I know we are different in this respect but I keep it loose so bathtime soon, dinner soon…

It’s only a small thing I suppose.

Are you having problems in general and he is trying to keep grasp on some sort of control?
Maybe start shouting Yes Sir at every opportunity...

No problems. It feels like a bit of anxiety? He runs his weekly work diary like clockwork as he is busy at work and has family commitments to fit in. His elderly Dad is poorly so I don’t know if it’s to do with that? x
