Rather than his choice surface - carpet ?

YABU and you know it.

Have never once had a cat vomit on a hard floor if carpet is available. Preferably as many different rooms as possible.

One of mine will go outside to eat grass and come home specially so she can grace our carpet with her vomit.

Mine surpassed themselves last night. Sat at the top of cat tree and vomited down the wall. The hen as I cleaned that up - vomited on my head.

You win!! 🏆

My lovely cat (RIP) used to head straight for his litter tray to be sick - most considerate.

My dog went under the kingsize bed to vomit (on carpet) the other day. The most difficult to reach place in the whole house.

One of mine used to like shoes as a receptacle.

That was always a nice surprise - especially if still warm.....

Try getting bare foot out of welly boot in a hurry - I have experience of cat vomit in one and, on another occasion, a live mouse 🤬

Luckily ours don’t vomit but mine interrupted a zoom call yesterday to let me know that poo was hanging out her bottom attached to grass.

Thanks mate.

Yes I hate it when mine eat grass and have lumps of poo hanging out of their bottoms. Then if the poo falls off they try to bury it on the hard floor.
