Possible prolapse and can't go to toilet

Posted yesterday as I have suddenly developed what I think is a prolapse. I have a bulge so I think it's quite advanced. I think it may have happened over the weekend as I had a sickness bug and when I opened my bowels I had the worst stomach pain I've ever felt. The bulge then appeared afterwards. Pretty sure it's not a bowel prolapse though. Since last night I've now got a really uncomfortable pain in my groin/lower abdomen, feel nausea and can't open my bowels. Starting to panic a bit now. Is this just normal with a prolapse?

If you push it back in, can you poo then?

Ask the GP got an emergency appointment today. A prolapse can be fixed. 🙂

I wouldn’t say that nausea would normally be associated with any kind of prolapse. Are you still ill? Pain in lower abdomen could potentially be but again I wouldn’t have said that was a classic symptom of prolapse a lot of the time. Hope you feel better soon

I'd recommend you see your gp, it could be a prolapse. Mine was diagnosed after a defecating proctogram test at the hospital. My gp said he couldn't see the bulge I was feeling during my initial consultation but dis refer me on to gynae who in turn referred me on to the proctologist.

Good luck with it, it's very distressing.

Get on the phone to doc 8am

Any thing that affects the working of bowel or bladder needs to be seen.

phone the gp and explain they might get you to go to a&e but hopefully you can be seen there.

don’t worry though it’ll be fine but don’t ignore it either.

i will caveat by saying I’m not a medical professional so obviously I can only give you advice going on my own knowledge.

Has anyone had surgery for a vaginal prolapse and can give me some idea of what the recovery is like please?

Sorry to jump on the thread, after five years of being told I have hemeroids after my first baby, I got referred for banding, no change, to go and stamp my feet and say this is not right. The doctor re examined and said it actually looks like a rectal prolapse, he's sent and urgent email to the surgeon that banded. I cried alot as I feel I've been totaly mugged off for five years, I've had to leave jobs that aggregate it, and wear sanitary towels daily.
What's happens now with a rectal prolapse? Dose anyone no?
Ty
