Would you be confident committing to private school in this situation?

No mortgage, income circa 3k a month, maintenance 880 a month. I paid off my mortgage last year so have no savings now. Dd due to start school in a year and I’ve always had my heart set on private… do people do this in this sort of situation? Do you consider it too risky? For context the fees are 18k a year at the moment

I went to state primary and then private secondary (single sex girls school) and am high earner top 1% I went to a rural village primary and city private. I appreciate my experience may not be your child’s as I loved my primary and didn’t love my secondary. My nephew aged 13 is at the high school I’d have gone to I’ve I’d stayed state and I think he will get straight As, but who knows. What I do think is primary is definitely a waste of money unless you don’t have to worry at all. Secondary…. Make that call based on local state schools versus private and your child ? Bank some money between now and then?
