To not know why I am continually getting colds?

So, I've got my fourth cold in three months. And not a small sniffle, instead a proper temperature, hacking cough, full body shakes cold.

And all the others have been the same.

I eat healthily, moderate exercise, no underlying conditions. Wash hands regularly and take vitamins. Lots of sleep, not stressed.

And yet, every single germ seems to get me.

What can I do, and is there any tests or someone I could see to try and prevent this continually happening?

Can't get a gp appointment unless basically dying, and not sure what gp would say?

Is there any sort of medical professional that I could see? Happy to pay

First once you get run down it can take a while to fully recover so think if you can ease off a little and build in more rest / gentle exercise and time outdoors

Then think about your environment - if you are in a dirty air area ( traffic , wood burners ) can you get away to somewhere cleaner to help your lungs

Sometimes it just happens though

I’m like this. It’s part of long Covid. My immunity is really poor now and I catch everything going, sometimes just for a day or two, sometimes laid up for a week or more then wiped out for weeks after. I haven’t found a solution other than avoiding groups of people, and even that’s nowhere near foolproof.

Have you been taking vitamin d over the winter? Low vitamin d lowers your immune system.

YABU.

Thanks all. Take vitamin d. Live in the countryside. Don't overdo it when I'm ill.

Can't avoid people as need to go to work.

But just can't understand why I'm continually ill

Don't over do it when you start to get better - "convalescence"

No one is testing for covid anymore and the tests aren't always accurate. IF you have had covid (which can be asymptomatic) then that may be the cause.
It is known that covid damages your immune system and for several months afterwards you catch every cold going.
The best way to avoid these colds is avoid people, mask, ventilate any rooms you are in with other people and rest as much as possible. Hopefully your immune system will start to recover soon.
There isn't much public health education around this but it's a classic sequelae of COVID.
Of note, other viruses might cause the same thing and there are lots of cases of whooping cough going round too. Hope you recover soon.
