My ears are so blocked up.

They were slightly blocked before but I'm pretty much deaf now and have ringing.

What can I do ?

I was hoping it would improve after sleep, but it's the same.

I get this every time I fly. Takes a couple of days for them to ‘pop’. Sudafed can help, and a warm shower. Hope they clear soon.

Maybe go to the GP or a local pharmacy, they might be able to help.

I have eustachian tube dysfunction, and I had a nurse that showed me a trick that usually works: take a glass and fill it with super hot water (not boiling). Then pour out the water quickly, and put the glass over your outer ear. Bend over for about 30 seconds then stand up and gently remove the glass by sliding it. The heat and pressure often creates a small vacuum that can release the pressure in your ear.

@Confrontayshunme
This is what I have - thanks for the tip! Will try this next time.

I also have ETD.

Do you know what causes yours ?

I'm going to try this ! Thanks so much.

My ENT said I should try one of those balloon things but I can't even manage to blow it up.

I've found everyone really unhelpful when it comes to managing ETD.

I also have ETD and suffering so badly with it; stupid question but do you just bend forward, head down?

It doesn't seem to help. If I turn my ear towards my shoulder it helps while I'm in that position.

Otherwise it's so blocked.

It feels numb when I touch my outer ear. I'm sure you know what I mean, if you also suffer from this !!

My ETD is so random so it often comes and goes in the time it takes to see a GP. Still haven't figured out what causes it other than nasal congestion occasionally. Apparently there is also a tiny machine you can buy which blows air through your nostril and unblocks the eustachian tube but I can't vouch for that.

The best thing for me is one of the nasal decongestant sprays (Afrin - but don't use it regularly or it causes rebound congestion) plus trying the vacuum thing or valsalva maneuvres.

I also have ETD and these really help. Especially after flying...
