Sat here fed up after another day of being bone tired. And I mean tired to the actual bone. I feel ill I am that exhausted.

Backround, I have for the last 18 months been experiencing the following symptoms:

Forgetting words/ saying wrong words continually throughout the day (this symptom is concerning me the most)
Extreme exhaustion
Extreme irritability, anger, low mood.
memory/ brain fog/ difficulty concentrating
Significant increase in migraines
palpitations
Dizzy when standing up from bending down
sickness with movement / had to give up my pilates class

Doctor just not interested and basically eye rolled me and told me to take anti depressants. Im not depressed, I physically feel terrible!!

This has all started within this specific time frame and I rightly/ wrongly believe there is an underlying cause, whether that be vitamin deficiency, perimenopausal. Dr disagrees

Had bloods done and show no sign of perimenopause. Bloods show all ok but low folate and ferritin was 11, which they said was fine but i know that to be low, so been taking folate, high strength iron, b12, magnesium, high strength vit d and omega 3
My mood has actually improved considerably in the 3 months ive been taking the supplements but the physical symptoms persist.

Doctor said no more blood tests needed.

I literally cannot carry on like this. I’ve been moody and irritable today but BECAUSE i feel horrendous and still have to carry on life with work and a 3 year old.

I just cant enjoy anything at all. It’s mine and dh anniversary tomorrow, we have childcare and a meal booked and ive been looking forward to it so much but feeling like this it just seems like a waste of money

What are my next steps, what can I do?

I’m nearly 39, work part time, dont smoke or drink, heathly bmi, dont do formal exercise but active. Diet could be better but honestly isnt full of crap and just average

It sounds very like B12 deficiency-especially with your low folate and ferritin results. You may not be absorbing the B12 supplements. I have 3 monthly B12 injections due to absorption problems and my symptoms are very similar to yours. I’m post menopausal and have fibromyalgia so there is some cross over there but without my B12 injections I’d feel like death. To the poster that said your dad is experiencing similar- B12 absorption problems are significantly worse as we age so could be the problem there. If they’ve tested your B12 anything below 300 needs treatment- don’t let them fob you off saying it’s in ‘normal range’ ask for loading doses and see if symptoms improve…

Sounds v like when my thyroid was fucked.

I'm a bit surprised by your gp's response to having a ferritin level of 11! I just had the same and I was advised to take iron and have a full anaemia screen follow up in 3 months.
First off, try and see a different gp at the practice. If that doesn't work and you can afford it, monitirmyhealth do postal tests and they're all processed in an NHS lab so they are reliable. You could get the anaemia and thyroid tests there.
But really, your doctor should be ordering all those tests for you.
The pins and needles going away is probably a good indicator that the low iron was to blame for that and levels have now risen, but you still need to get it properly checked.
Did you have a virus before your symptoms started?

Have you looked up the symptoms for coeliac disease? Many people don’t have gut symptoms (myself included). Mine was missed for years and I was just treated for anaemia until I saw a GP who wanted to know why I was anaemic. My main symptoms were fatigue and just generally feeling awful, as well as low iron and b12.
