Shopping trolley theory - be honest!

The theory is that if you return it you’re a good person and if you don’t then you’re a shit person.

Shopping Cart Theory suggests the ultimate way to test moral goodness is to see whether or not someone will do the “right” thing in the absence of accountability, consequence, or reward.

Have you ever not bothered?

Are you not taking this a little too seriously?

I'm struggling to see what you don't believe TBH.

That its a big and busy car park that's always full? It's in the middle of Birmingham and absolutely bustling.

That I'd lose sight of the car for up to 30 seconds? Unless you have eyes on the back of your head, how on Earth would this not happen? Or do some people walk to the trolley bay backwards while staring at their car?
To be fair, it's going to be longer than that as the nearest bay is a few "lanes" away and you need to wait for cars to pass.

Anyway! This thread is so accusatory it's hilarious. People seem to get their knickers in a twist for crazy reasons.

Rules don't apply to everyone 100% of the time. Shock horror! A mum with 2 kids (one wobbly but very mobile and one in arms) putting the trolley safely to the side for the trolley staff to put away later isn't the issue you seem to think it is.
Ditto people with mobility issues etc.

My darling dad has parkinson's disease and will risk falling over and injuring himself because he wouldn't dream of NOT putting the trolley back. I despair at this.

Thankfully I engage my brain before just sheeple-ing around the world and don't have rigid thinking.

(Oh look, I can stir the pot too!)

Feel free to search. I have been using this name for quite a while now.

I don't get the 'I've got small children ' excuse.
Put shopping in car.
Put kids in car.
Lock door.
Take trolley back.
Drive home.

How many kids are actually stolen from cars in car parks?
