Can I wear trainers on a first date?!

So I’ve got a first date this evening, we’re only meeting for a drink in a local village pub/restaurant, It’s quite a nice one.
I haven’t been on a first date in a long time!
I don’t want to wear heels as I’m already tall at 5ft8,
so I was going to go for a floral mini/summer skirt and my nice trainers that are a similar colour with a long sleeve top to match…too casual??

I know people wear trainers for everything now but I’m starting to panic!!

God he sounds dull as dishwater! oh well as a pp said keep going with comfy feet..

Will keep plodding along and looking and making sure my feet are comfy in trainers as I go!
I’m not sure if I’m expecting too much but there was a bottle of water on the table he didn’t even offer if I wanted a glass…just did his and left me to do my own.

If that's how you'd usually dress for drink in village pub then it's fine.

I think it's sensible to show someone who you are from day 1.

Oh. Sorry it didn’t go brilliantly. Still, at least you were in comfortable shoes (even if the date may have not been comfortable).

Talking about ex throughout a first date is a bit of a red flag for me and I would run a mile - at least you had the footwear for it!

Least you know before it went any further.
